Musically Speaking
For concert-goers who want to learn more about classical music in general and the works about to be performed in particular, the "Musically Speaking" pre-concert talks are just the ticket. They are led by special lecturer, Dr. John Clark, who pours his passion and coaching experience into bringing music alive for novice and experienced classical music lovers of all ages. The free 30-minute talks are open to the public and are held one hour prior to each Classics concert in the Knight Auditorium adjacent to the Barnstable Performing Arts Center.
Program Notes for the Classics
Program Notes for the Classics give concert-goers insight into the background, context and musical structure of the works they will be hearing. The program notes are printed in the concert program book distributed at the concert hall. If you'd like a copy of them in advance, you may view and download them from the concert descriptions listed on the Concert Season page.
In addition, large print Program Notes designed for audience members with low vision are available in the lobby prior to each Classics concert.

"To enjoy classical music, you do not need a lot of prior knowledge. All you need is curiosity, a sense of the remarkable and the adventure begins".
