MusicWorks! Everyday
Our MusicWorks! Everyday education program encourages each child--not just music students-- to engage with music in a way that is very personal.  It helps them broaden their appreciation for great music and improve their listening skills.

HOW IT WORKS
Participants in this uniquely designed, non-directed listening program listen to classical music for five minutes at the beginning of each school day, five days per week.  By listening to the same composition over the course of a week, students not only become knowledgeable about the featured music and the composer; they also improve their ability to focus. Our teachers report an average increase of 15 minutes per day of productivity!

PROGRAM-IN-A-BOX
This program has been enthusiastically received by teachers and administrators and successfully implemented in a variety of school settings. It is very easy to implement by both specialist and non-specialist teachers; no additional teacher preparation is required. This “program-in-a-box” includes a comprehensive resource book and professional-quality CDs for a five-year plan. When used in conjunction with other Cape Symphony's music education programs, it also directly supports the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Framework.

GETTING STARTED
The Cape Sympony is highly committed to bringing this popular program to schools Cape-wide at no or little cost. We provide an initial orientation with administrators and full staff training in late summer before school starts. We also schedule follow up visits to ensure program success. This program is currently in place at 31 Cape Cod schools with over 8,000 students listening daily to the world’s great music.
