Neil was a company member for ten years at Boston’s Publick Theatre under Artistic Director Spiro Veloudos.

Taking a step beyond acting, Neil founded The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company (BCSC) in the fall of 2012 and was artistic director until June of 2016. Under his directorship, the BCSC produced 12 works that toured across Southeastern New England and as far south as the New York International Fringe Festival.

Neil’s performance in a solo show produced by the BCSC, Burbage, was pronounced the 2013 “Critics Favorites” and “Best Play” by the Cape Cod Times. He also appeared as Hamlet in Hamlet, in Much Ado About Nothing as Benedick, in Macbeth as MacDuff, and in The Winter’s Tale as Leontes. Adding directing to his repertoire, Neil directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream and appeared as Theseus/Oberon, and directed another presentation of Hamlet while appearing as Ghost/Player King.

Over the past few years, Neil’s award-winning solo performance in the BCSC production of A Christmas Carol has become a fixture on the South Shore and Cape Cod. This weekend, he’ll perform scenes from A Christmas Carol during the Cape Symphony’s Holiday on the Cape concerts.

Neil McGarry takes the stage at Holiday on the Cape, December 1, 2, and 3. Call 508.362.1111 or buy online.
