We’re honored to be joined on August 24th by members of the United States Air Force Band for our performance at the Salt Pond Visitor Center in partnership with the Cape Cod National Seashore.
According to their website, “The United States Air Force Band is the Air Force's premier musical organization. The excellence demonstrated by the Band's Airmen musicians is a reflection of the excellence carried out 24 hours a day by Airmen stationed around the globe. Each member is proud to represent all Airmen, whose selfless service and sacrifices ensure the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America. Since its formation in 1941, this world-class organization has inspired billions of listeners through its exhilarating music, engaging concerts and masterful recordings and continues to positively impact the global community.”
The Air Force Band’s mission is to honor those who have served, inspire American citizens to heightened patriotism and service, and positively impact the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States of America. These musicians and vocalists will certainly do all of that and more on August 24, partnering with the Cape Symphony to present Broadway tunes, a salute to Leonard Bernstein, and most especially some stirring patriotic tunes, including the “Armed Forces Salute,” which features the songs from each branch of the military. You’ll know many of the lyrics – “From the halls of Montezuma…” to “Anchors aweigh, my boys!” and of course, the U.S. Air Force Song, “Off we go into the wild blue yonder…”
Symphony at the Seashore is a free outdoor concert - no tickets are required. Don’t miss the Cape Symphony and the United States Air Force Band.
