We’ll be featuring the show-stopping number “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen in February’s The Tonys: Broadway’s Best.
Many of you will have seen the TV ads for the musical, which is currently playing at the Boston Opera House. Some of you lucky folks may have had the chance to see it. If you’re not familiar, here’s a little bit about the show.
Dear Evan Hansen is about an anxious teenager who gets caught up in a terrible situation. He’s been writing letters to himself as an exercise for his therapist – but one of his letters ends up in the pocket of another unhappy boy, with disastrous consequences. Ultimately uplifting, Dear Evan Hansen focuses on the challenges and joys of families and friendships. While it’s a contemporary story, the universal themes of loneliness, longing and love are reminiscent of the golden age of Broadway.
The music in Dear Evan Hansen is absolutely beautiful and moving. Check out this video of the current cast performing “You Will Be Found” on Good Morning America. Sixteen-year-old Andrew Barth Feldman is the first teenager to portray Evan, making his performance even more powerful. He certainly understands what it’s like to be a teenager in the 21st century.
Dear Evan Hansen won Tony awards for Best Musical and Best Score, among others, as well as the GRAMMY for best musical theater album. We’re excited to include this amazing musical among the other Tony winners in our February 22 and 23 concert. Tickets are on sale now for The Tonys: Broadway’s Best.
