Our season opener, Beethoven on the Cape, features music inspired by nature, and in particular, by Cape Cod.
Sometimes, we take our surroundings for granted, especially if we live here year-round. We don’t always visit the iconic places that bring millions of visitors here, and we forget to stop and smell the salt sea air. We are all extremely fortunate to live in such a beautiful place, and we need to appreciate and treasure this unique environment.
With the help of the Harwich Conservation Trust, the Cape Symphony is creating a multimedia experience called “Soaring Over the Sound,” with aerial video of our beautiful Cape landscapes accompanied by an evocative new soundtrack. It’s an amazing tribute to the beauty of our Cape Cod environment.
Cape Cod videographer Tom Chartrand of Shoreline Media Productions filmed the incredible footage, and we've commissioned composer Matt Correia to create the "Soaring Over the Sound" music. In this sneak preview, you’ll see some of the glorious video and hear a basic soundtrack that the composer uses in the creation process. Just imagine what it will sound like with the powerful talents of the Cape Symphony musicians!
This experience will rejuvenate your appreciation for the lovely natural world that we are lucky enough to be surrounded by every day. Tickets for Beethoven on the Cape, September 21 and 22, are selling fast. Get yours today! Visit capesymphony.org or call 508.362.1111.
