Get ready to hear beautiful voices wafting over the Salt Pond and out across the Cape Cod National Seashore! On Friday August 23, the Cape Symphony appears for the fourth annual Symphony at the Seashore. You’re in for a treat – four amazing singers will be with us and it promises to be a magical evening.
You may recognize Jessica Curran from last year’s Symphony at the Seashore –she sang “Over the Rainbow,” a preview of her lovely performance as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz in Concert.” Jessica is also a songwriter, and she’ll perform her award-winning original song “Weightless.”
Anna McEntee is also returning – she last appeared with the Cape Symphony in the 2018 Holiday on the Cape. Anna’s new band, Anna and the Moderns, has quickly become popular around the Cape and has appeared at Gannon’s Tavern, The Loft, British Beer Company, and other fun spots as well as at Aselton Park in Hyannis for the Fourth of July celebration. She’ll give us a special tribute to the late Doris Day.
Jenn Dashnaw is a U.S. Air Force veteran and performed in last year’s Symphony at the Seashore along with the U.S. Air Force Band. She sang the Star Spangled Banner at Fenway Park and performed all over the world while an Air Force musician. The multi-talented Jenn also has a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance.
Together, these three singers will appear as the Andrews Sisters in December’s Holiday on the Cape. They’ll offer us a little glimpse of that at the Seashore!
Our final guest will be Mia Pak, Jung-Ho’s daughter. This gifted young actress and vocalist has taken New York by storm, making her debut at Lincoln Center this past spring! She’ll show us a little Disney magic.
Symphony at the Seashore is a free concert and no tickets are required. Arrive early, bring beach chairs and a picnic, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! The National Park Service rangers have fun activities for kids planned from 6:00 to 6:45 PM, and the concert begins at 7:00 PM. Get all the details at Symphony at the Seashore.
