We want you to find your "inner conductor"! Be like Jung-Ho Pak and show off your moves without needing to read music or have an orchestra in front of you.
In our first-ever amateur conducting contest, we're looking for videos of people conducting an invisible orchestra, playing one song. You can pick any piece of classical or pops symphonic music in the public domain (written prior to 1924). Examples include famous songs like “1812 Overture,” “Ride of the Valkyries,” or “Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.” You don't need any experience, just the willingness to perform and the ability to record a video on your phone.
Awards will be given for most dramatic, funniest, most believable/professional, best special effects, and best overall. The winner in each category will receive a $25 Cape Symphony gift certificate (good for seven years) and may be invited to conduct the Cape Symphony in a future CapePOPS! program!
The deadline to enter is June 24. All the details and the entry form are available here. Give it a shot and have fun with it! We can't wait to see what you come up with.
