Arts-Infused, Academically Inspired
Every day is an academic and artistic adventure at Cape Symphony Preschool in West Barnstable! Our students discover the worlds of numbers, letters, books, and storytelling. They conduct science experiments, tune in to the weather, and learn about animals and nature, digging into projects and uncovering all the mysteries of their neighborhood and the big world beyond. At Cape Symphony, we also weave music, dance, and visual arts into the fabric of every day. Children learn about great artists and composers. They sing, dance, play instruments, and create their own works of art.
Our arts-enriched environment fully engages children’s senses and opens a clear path for all types of learners. Through artistic activities, children learn to think objectively and creatively. They learn to listen, observe and describe; to analyze, interpret and act independently. Physically, they develop gross and fine motor skills and increase their flexibility, strength, and balance. Socially, they learn to share, collaborate, and express themselves. Children in our M/W/F classes receive Suzuki-inspired violin instruction as part of the core curriculum. Our program is modeled after Japan's esteemed Talent Education Institute, founded by Shin'ichi Suzuki in the belief that natural talent and ability can be fostered in any child through training and nurturing the natural growth process.
Cape Symphony Preschool's teachers are skilled, experienced, nurturing, accessible, responsive, and fun! After school, children can stay for one of our optional enrichment activities. Staff transition the students to a fun and educational mix of music, art, and dance/movement classes.

Cape Symphony Preschool Families Say...
“As a family, we have a special place in our hearts for Cape Symphony Preschool. This community of educators and staff welcomed us two years ago with open arms during a trying time in our world. From the Fall of 2021 to present day, with a graduating preschooler, everyone has exceeded our expectations. Kindness, compassion and empathy are practiced on a daily basis throughout the school. The teachers and staff greet with a smile and are available to answer questions. Our son has learned about patience and practice through his violin instruction. We have all learned about world renowned artists and methods of painting. Creativity is welcomed and encouraged. Thanks to Cape Symphony, we are confident that our preschooler is kindergarten ready. We look forward to the next step and have made friends here we will not forget.” –The Tyson Family
“Cape Symphony has easily been one of the best decisions my husband and I have made for our children. The school has absolutely exceeded all our expectations and hopes for a preschool. The teachers are not only caring and compassionate, but they have turned learning into a fun experience. This past year our children learned about letters, numbers, writing, butterflies, famous artists, and much more! Academics are an integral part of Cape Symphony, but music is also a focal point, learning about instruments, singing songs, and even playing the violin! There are not enough words to express how amazing the Cape Symphony Preschool family truly is!” –The MacQueen Family
"From the extra music enrichment and creative movement programs to learning her numbers and letters, our daughter always has a smile on her face at the end of the day! Her experience this past year in the preschool class has been exceptional! She adored her teacher and we have watched her musical curiosity and creativity grow by leaps and bounds!" –Helen and Steve Malinowski
"My youngest child is finishing up his very successful kindergarten year and I have to give much credit to the foundation that the Preschool helped my family build. We have also made many lasting friendships with the other families that we met over the years." –Cathy Castano
"The Preschool is exceptional with so much to offer, academically, artistically, musically and socially... (The teachers) are nurturing, top-notch with a touch of class! I couldn't be more happy with the education and growth of my daughter... As a musician myself, I believe that music and the arts are an important part of learning and individual growth..." –Susannah Corrigan
