Listening Links for “The Wizard of Oz in Concert”

The Wizard of Oz in Concert will feature incredibly talented local actors who, with the Cape Symphony, will bring the iconic characters and songs to life. Here are some of the songs from The Wizard of Oz that we all know and love – have a listen and get excited for this extraordinary event!

Judy Garland performs Over the Rainbow in this clip, where a lonely Dorothy is dreaming of a world beyond Kansas.

Soon she finds herself in Oz, among the many, many Munchkins that come out to greet her and joyfully sing, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.

In another one of the most-loved performances from the movie, Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow sings of how much he longs to be smart, and all the wonderful things he’d do, If I Only Had a Brain.

Bert Lahr as the cowardly Lion struts his stuff in his big solo number, If I Were King of the Forest, as Dorothy, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man play along.

Another wonderful sing-a-long number from the beloved film is The Merry Old Land of Oz, featuring the horse of a different color!

On February 9 and 10, the Cape Symphony, in partnership with the Cotuit Center of the Arts, will present The Wizard of Oz in Concert at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center. Don’t miss out, get your tickets today at capesymphony.org or call 508.362.1111.
