Event dates: Postponed

We regret that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020-21 Cape Symphony season will be rescheduled to 2021-22, because the Barnstable Public School buildings, including the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, will not be available to outside organizations during the 2020-21 school year.

Our musicians, staff, and trustees are all deeply saddened by this situation, as we know you are. We will greatly miss performing for you. Please know that we’re optimistic about the future, and we promise that when we return, the Cape Symphony experience will be better than ever!

If you were a 2019-20 Cape Symphony series subscriber, don’t worry: your subscription will be held for the 2021-22 season. Anyone with questions regarding subscriptions or tickets may contact the Cape Symphony Box Office at 508.362.1111 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. The Cape Symphony office, including the Box Office, at 1060 Falmouth Road in Hyannis remains closed.

A three-masted ship, battered by the North Atlantic winds, sails into a harbor, sheltered by the hooked shape of the land. Its exhausted passengers had hoped to reach Virginia, but instead, found themselves facing an uncertain future. This was a momentous time in the history of America and our very special community in particular. The Cape Symphony is honored to present one of the premier events during the statewide 400th anniversary celebration of the Pilgrims’ arrival.

In partnership with the Plymouth Philharmonic, we’re commissioning two new works: “Mayflower” commemorates the signing of the Mayflower Compact in November 1620, and features soprano Kristin Watson. “Wampanoag: Stories For All Time” stars Native singer Jonathan Perry, joined by Wampanoag performers, presenting tales of the indigenous people who were here when the Mayflower arrived.

We will also perform Anton Dvorak’s New World Symphony, a celebration of American potential and one of the most popular symphonies of all time.
