May 2 & 3
Event dates: May 2 & 3

For the very first time, the Cape Symphony presents Mahler’s epic Symphony No. 5, an extravagant opus filled with the hyper-emotionality of the last great Romantic composer. To find a brilliant soloist for a Mozart violin concerto, we’re going to open the door to the whole world, discovering truly creative artists via video auditions on YouTube and selecting a winner to perform with us.

It’s a modern way to find a soulmate for the orchestra. The chosen soloist will also join the orchestra for Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun’s Internet Symphony, a celebration of the global music community.
