Two world-class soloists.
Two longtime collaborators. Two friends.
Lightning will strike twice at this season’s premiere!

Shortly after the Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, and while Russian forces pushed toward Berlin, the composer completed his Fifth symphony in a single month. It was a turning point for the 53-year-old composer, whose skill and confidence hover over each note. But this exquisite piece, which glorifies freedom, happiness and the greatness of the human spirit, was also a turning point for the world that first heard it
