Music Works! Education Programs
The Cape Symphony reaches over 10,000 students on Cape Cod and the Islands through its interactive MusicWorks! education programs.  Each program is designed to connect children and youth to the orchestra and promote an appreciation of classical music in future generations. Through its Adult Education programs, the Symphony enhances the overall concert experience for listeners of all ages.


ADULT EDUCATION
Our “Musically Speaking” Series consist of free talks about the composers and compositions featured in our Concert Season.  Our Program Notes provide even more insight into the music. 

LESSON PLANS FOR THE CLASSICS
These customized, multi-media in-school classes spin-off the Symphony's Masterpiece Series.

This non-directed classical music listening program for schools focuses on how composers think and create.

ONE CAPE, ONE SYMPHONY
Middle and high school students have the chance to learn a piece being performed by the Symphony, receive coaching from a Symphony conductor and attend a Symphony concert.

This program provides free concert tickets to middle and high school students.

YOUNG ARTISTS' COMPETITION
A scholarship competition and concerto competition provide cash awards to help deserving students advance their musical careers.

YOUNG PEOPLE'S CONCERT
Every Spring, 2,800 fourth grade students and their teachers and chaperones go on a field trip to attend a classical music concert at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center.
