Music Works! Education Programs
Through its interactive MusicWorks! education programs for children and youth, the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra reaches over 5,000 students on Cape Cod and the Islands - connecting them to the orchestra and promoting an appreciation of classical music in future generations. In addition, through its Adult education programs, the CCSO enhances the overall concert experience for listeners of all ages.
Adult Education - Musically Speaking and Program Notes for the Classics provide insight about composers and their works. Learn more.
Composing Kids/Composing Teens - in-school programs give young people the chance to compose their own mini-symphony. Learn more.
Lesson Plans for the Classics - provides customized multi-media lesson plans for select works scheduled to be performed by the CCSO. Learn more.
Master Classes for the Classics - CCSO guest soloists help talented young musicians hone their musical skills. Learn more.
MusicWorks! Everyday - a non-directed classical music listening program that focuses on how composers think and create. Learn more.
One Cape, One Symphony - middle and high school students are invited to rehearse a work being performed by the CCSO at the November Classics concert, play it at a school performance, and attend the CCSO concert free of charge. Learn more.
Tix4Music - this program makes free concert tickets available for middle and high school students. Learn more.
Young Artists’ Competition - a scholarship competition and a concerto competition provide cash awards that help deserving students advance their musical careers. Learn more.
Young People’s Concert - the CCSO’s spring school-day concert brings 2,800 fourth grade students and their teachers and chaperones to hear classical music at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center. Learn more.
Youth Advisory Board - this panel of high school musicians provides input and experience to help shape the CCSO education program. Learn more.
Youth Orchestra - Talented young musicians of all ages and skill levels perform symphonic music under the direction of professional conductors, musicians and educators. Learn more.

The Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra holds all its performances at the Barnstable Performing Arts Center in Hyannis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.
