Young People's Concert

Each Fall, the Symphony partners with participating school districts to bring professional quality, live symphonic music to young people on Cape Cod. Approximately 2,800 fourth grade students, along with their teachers and chaperones, take a field trip to the Barnstable Performing Arts Center for a school-day concert designed with the children’s interests/studies in mind.
Tickets are free to all participating school districts and available for a fee to other schools and/or grades as space allows. The topic for the 2012|13 Season will be announced soon.

LAST SEASON'S CONCERT RECAP
This concert, under the direction of Associate Conductor Joan Landry, celebrated the life and times of Abraham Lincoln with noted Actor Fritz Klein.
As students traced the great man's path from his simple wedding in Springfield, Illinois to his rise to the Presidency in Washington D.C., the Symphony presented the innovative and socially-conscious songs of Stephen Foster and the Civil War’s most popular tune When Johnny Comes Marching Home.
The concert also celebrated the birth of a unified nation through music with America the Beautiful, featuring the lyrics of Falmouth’s own Katharine Lee Bates.
