After a year of great challenge, sacrifice and courage, we celebrate the opportunity for all of us to gather once again and return to be a community that is blessed by beautiful music and unforgettable experiences.
As the Cape Symphony once again takes center stage, we honor our heroes who stepped forward so magnificently to help their nation in need. We pay tribute to the frontline and essential workers - nurses, doctors, first responders, and teachers – with John Williams’ “Summon the Heroes.” We’ll also recognize the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with “Towers of Light,” inspired by the light tributes held at Ground Zero every year.
Though we missed our celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday in 2020, we’ll present his rousing “Egmont Overture,” a thrilling tribute to resistance against tyranny. Johannes Brahms’ Second Symphony is a hopeful, sunny work that will lighten all our hearts as we look forward to a bright future. Please join us for this uplifting community celebration as we return to what we love best: sharing great music with all of you.
