Yulia Musayelyan is a flutist and composer born in Moscow, Russia. A versatile multi-genre performer, she leads a quartet and the Macayú Trio, and plays regularly with the Fernando Huergo Quintet, Marta Gomez, Manhattan Camerata, and others. Her chamber works have been performed in New York City and featured in the 2006 short film Natalie Bonn. She has recorded over 25 albums as sideman and released her album, Caminos, in 2009. She has toured the U.S., the U.K., Europe, and Central and South America with various musical projects.
Fernando Huergo is a bassist, composer, and educator from Córdoba, Argentina, now based in Boston. He has recorded more than 160 albums, including 11 as a leader and co leader. Fernando has toured and given clinics in North, Central and South America, Europe and Asia. An active performer on the jazz scene, he has performed with his quintet at the Buenos Aires Jazz Festival and Córdoba International Jazz Festival in Argentina, as well as at Alexanderplatz Jazz Club in Rome, Italy, and Sunside Jazz in Paris, France, The Regattabar in Cambridge, MA and Cornelia Street Cafe in NYC, among others.
On Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, Yulia brings her expressive, genre-spanning artistry to Wequassett Resort for Cape Symphony Presents’ A Taste of Jazz dinner series—providing a refined musical backdrop to twenty-eight Atlantic’s inspired seasonal cuisine.
