Dec 10

Searching for the perfect holiday gift? Here’s an idea. Pictured above are the folks who will soon be portraying the Lion (Jeffrey Clonts), the Scarecrow (Paul Fendler), Dorothy (Jessica Curran), and the Tin Man (Anthony Teixeira). We’re working with our good friends at the Cotuit Center for the Arts to tap into all this fantastic local talent and bring you an extraordinary concert experience in February.

Tickets to The Wizard of Oz in Concert will make a very special holiday gift! We also offer a student discount of 50% for ages 6 to 22, so get tickets now for the young people in your life, and bring them to see a unique presentation of one of your favorite movies of all time. So many of us remember watching The Wizard of Oz on TV, adoring Dorothy and her friends, fearing the Wicked Witch, and often going to bed before the flying monkeys showed up! What fun it will be to see the Cape Symphony perform all the songs we know so well, along with these talented actor/singers.

Looking for other gift ideas, now that it is December 10th already? Our New Year’s Day Party is always so much fun, and this year we have the return of the powerhouse singer LaKisha Jones to take it over the top! If you saw LaKisha belt out “Proud Mary” at our "Broadway Rocks" concert in February, you know what’s in store. She’s an "American Idol" finalist, a Broadway star, and a new favorite of the Cape Symphony.

On January 19 and 20, we’re presenting another unique event. One of the largest orchestras we’ve ever had on stage, with over 80 musicians, will perform the best of Richard Wagner’s larger-than-life pieces from The Ring Cycle, including “The Ride of the Valkryies” – you know it from both Bugs Bunny and Apocalypse Now. It will literally be thunderous in the concert hall!

You might also consider giving your loved ones tickets to one of our spring concerts, like the all-Beethoven April concert for classical fans, the beautiful Legendary Love Stories in May, or – and this is going to be so much fun – our tribute to Rodgers & Hammerstein in partnership with Boston Conservatory at Berklee Theater Division in June!

When in doubt, a Cape Symphony gift certificate is always appreciated. Let your family and friends choose their own concert! To order a Cape Symphony gift certificate, visit the Box Office, call 508.362.1111, or visit the gift certificate page to purchase online and print out at home. What could be easier?
