Private Music Lessons | Cape Symphony Orchestra Education

Private instruction is the core of music education at Cape Symphony Conservatory. We offer lessons year-round for children and adults, from beginning through advanced levels in all major instruments and voice. Recitals are held at the end of each semester. Our kind, expert faculty have a wide range of talents and personalities to ensure an excellent student/teacher match.

Private lessons are available at our Barnstable and Falmouth campuses and at our Lower Cape Extension in Brewster, as well as online.

Lesson Schedule

Generally, private music lessons are offered Monday through Saturday. The schedule varies for each teaching artist; our registrars will work with you to determine a suitable day and time.

We schedule lessons for the academic year, though you may begin at any time. Tuition for lessons beginning after the start of the year will be pro-rated.

Most lessons occur once per week for 30, 45, or 60 minutes. The teaching artist will help determine the length and frequency of your lessons. Most beginners start with 30-minute lessons and increase the time as their skills advance.

We recommend students begin by scheduling one paid trial lesson.

Distance Learning

Distance learning makes it possible for students of all ages to take music lessons from anywhere in the world. We offer high-quality online instruction using simple, user-friendly technology. With an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone, you can meet with one of our instructors from the convenience of your home. Our faculty provide engaging experiences well-suited to the online setting.
