Cape Symphony patrons Maria Trozzi and Peter Cook happily made Cape Cod their full-time home after having been longtime summer residents. They were very involved in music and culture in Boston, and it delighted them to discover an outstanding professional orchestra right here on Cape Cod.

Their Cape Symphony experience began with Holiday on the Cape. “A neighbor told us ‘you’ve got to go to the Cape Symphony!’” recalls Maria. “We went to Holiday Pops and were blown away. We thought, wow, this must be the Cape’s best-kept secret!”

Now regular concertgoers, Maria and Peter especially appreciate that the Cape Symphony Orchestra delivers exceptional performances in a welcoming, accessible way. Like Maria, those who know and love classical music will be drawn to the Orchestra’s excellent programming and fine talent; newcomers, though, should not hesitate to check out a concert. “If people gave it a shot, they’d keep going,” she says. “Cape Symphony is inviting and inclusive. You don’t need to have a classical background, or know a lot about it, to enjoy the concerts. You’ll hear two hours of gorgeous music.”

Peter is moved by the unique Cape Cod spirit at Cape Symphony concerts. “For me, it’s a way to keep connected,” he says. “Being new to the Cape, there’s something about going into the Barnstable Performing Arts Center and seeing our neighbors… it’s like a proud, small-town get-together. All kinds of people are there. This is Cape Cod!”

“That connectivity is so important,” he continues. “Many patrons just can’t get to Boston. It’s wonderful to have this orchestra right here.”

“Cape Symphony is a big part of our quality of life here on Cape Cod,” says Peter, and it’s important to support it. “We’re thrilled that the Cape Symphony exists,” says Maria. “Music lifts our souls, and do we ever need that.”
