Salt air, sea breeze, good friends and great music – what more could you ask for on a beautiful Cape Cod summer night? Join us on August 24 at 7:00 PM for our annual free Pops concert at the National Seashore Salt Pond Visitors Center in Eastham.
Our concert program comprises a beautiful collection of American favorites, promising a soundscape as lovely and timeless as the seashore itself.
Two amazing guest vocalists will join our Cape Symphony musicians on the National Seashore’s outdoor amphitheater stage.
Cabaret singer and jazz vocalist Ella Mae Dixon, originally from Wellfleet, is now based in New York City, where she recently performed to high acclaim at the famed Birdland Jazz Club. Symphony at the Seashore will be Ella Mae’s orchestral debut.
Mozelle Andrulot of Eastham is a world-class jazz singer. She’s dazzled audiences on both sides of the Atlantic and is in very high demand here on the Cape, where she is known as a “jazz jewel.” We couldn’t agree more!
Symphony at the Seashore will be the culminating event of Cape Symphony’s Summer of Joy, celebrating Jung-Ho Pak’s 16-year tenure as our Artistic Director and Conductor.
The evening’s program includes two songs by the incomparable George Gershwin. Ella Mae Dixon will sing “Fascinating Rhythm,” and “Summertime” will be performed by Mozelle Andrulot. His friend Arnold Schoenberg said of Gershwin, “Music was what made him feel, and music was the feeling he expressed.”
Symphony at the Seashore will be a lively and joyful event in an enchantingly beautiful setting. Come share those feelings with us by the shores of Salt Pond!
