Hear Siren’s Song on New Year’s Day
If you came to the Cape Symphony’s Holiday on the Cape in 2017, you had the pleasure of hearing powerhouse singer Siren Mayhew. The Martha’s Vineyard native performed John Lennon’s “Happy Christmas” with the chorus from Eddy Elementary School, which brought the house down, and later in the show, her rendition of “O Holy Night” had the audience spellbound. Siren was truly the star of the show, with our customers complimenting her “outstanding,” “powerful,” and “breathtaking” voice.

Due to illness, Brian Duprey will replace John Stevens as Bing Crosby for this weekend’s performances of Holiday on the Cape. We wish John a speedy recovery, and we’re excited to have Brian as our guest.

At the Cape Symphony's Holiday on the Cape in December, the Cape’s own Anna McEntee, Jenn Dashnaw, and Jessica Curran will appear as the Andrews Sisters. But who were the Andrews Sisters, exactly? Many of us are familiar with their swinging harmonies. Did you know that with over 90 million records sold, they are the best-selling female group of all time? They even had more top 10 hits than Elvis or the Beatles.
Holidays with the Troops: Celebrating Bob Hope’s Legacy
From 1964 to 1972, Hope included South Vietnam on his annual trips to visit troops during the holiday season, a tradition that started for him during World War II. “Back in 1941, at March Field, California…I still remember fondly that first soldier audience,” Hope once said. “I looked at them, they laughed at me, and it was love at first sight.”
