Cape Symphony Presents invites you to a very special gathering in the Celtic tradition, featuring a session with Chatham fiddler Rose Clancy followed by a community dance led by traditional dance caller Summer McCall with live music by The Rose Clancy Trio.
A Celtic session is typically led by one or two musicians, joined by any number of others on various instruments and vocals. The joy is in learning by listening, singing, and playing, and sharing this time-honored tradition.
For the dance, Summer McCall will draw from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, English folk and New England folk traditions including contra-dancing and square dancing. The dances will be easy and fun to learn, and no prior experience is necessary! Summer will teach us all with patience and good humor. Not inclined to dancing? Join us for the music, and a great evening with friends old and new. All are welcome.
