Based in the Northeast, Kirby is a longtime bandleader, collaborator, and educator whose career spans decades of recording, touring, and mentoring emerging artists. He is best known for leading the Steven Kirby Quintet and Big Band projects, and for his work championing original music that reflects both tradition and innovation. Whether in an intimate setting or leading a full ensemble, Kirby brings a powerful musical voice and a commanding presence to the stage.
