Josh Delaney is a former New England Press Association award-winning journalist for the Cape Cod Voice and a writer and performer of narrative pieces for the Cape Symphony. He has a master’s in history from Brown University.
He’s also the author of the historical fiction novel Pieces of Eight, based on the story of Sam Bellamy and the pirate ship Whydah, which wrecked off the coast of Wellfleet in 1717. He is currently working on a TV adaptation of the book.
Josh wrote the narration for Alex Berko's new composition, “Mayflower,” which will have its world premiere at the Cape Symphony’s Mayflower and Beyond event on November 13th and 14th. "Mayflower" commemorates the journey of the Pilgrims and the creation of the Mayflower Compact. Actor Neil McGarry will perform the narration, which unfolds the story of the people who “looked to the horizon with hearts of hope.”
