Mia Pak makes her Cape Symphony debut in Symphony at the Seashore, fresh from another debut this summer at New York’s Lincoln Center Theater in Grace McLean’s new musical In The Green. Hailing from Monterey, California, Mia’s interest in theater began around the time she learned to walk. She now lives in New York City where she is pursuing a career in theater as well as earning her BFA in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Mia has been in over 20 productions spanning from Shakespeare’s comedies (Hero in Much Ado About Nothing, Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream) to contemporary musicals (Fantine in Les Miserables, Veronica in Heathers, Wednesday in The Addams Family) to American family dramas (Catherine in A View From the Bridge, Esther in American Hwangap). She began her training at Interlochen Arts Camp in Northern Michigan in the summer of 2010 and returned for six more summers. She also attended The Performing Arts Project (TPAP) in North Carolina for two summers in a row.
In addition to performing, Mia enjoys directing, choreography, and songwriting. Mia is a 2016 YoungArts winner in Theater, a 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts Nominee, and winner of the Interlochen Arts Camp 2014 Maddy Award.
Off-stage, Mia can be found going to the movies, enjoying nature, and eating all things gluten-free. She is extremely grateful for her teachers at Interlochen, TPAP, NYU, and of course, her parents, for being supportive, smiling audience members since her earliest performances in their living room.
Mia Pak performs with the Cape Symphony at the free outdoor concert on August 23, Symphony at the Seashore.
