The holiday season begins with the Cape Symphony! Year after year, we gather to share joyous music and moments that put us all in a holiday mood.
We’ll be joined by two gloriously talented award-winning vocal artists, Cape Cod native and cabaret singer Dawn Derow and jazz singer Danny Bacher. Dawn will perform “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Christmas on Cape Cod,” among other classics. Danny will sing “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music and put a jazz twist on “Little Drummer Boy.” Together, the two will duet on “Let it Snow,” “Winter Wonderland,” and more.
2020 marked the 50th anniversary of the Cape’s beloved Chatham Chorale; we’ll shine a spotlight on our dear friends. The Chorale’s Music Director Joe Marchio will conduct “The First Noel” and “Hallelujah Chorus."
We’ve commissioned a new piece of music in celebration of the Festival of Lights, “The Story of Chanukah,” which will be performed by cantorial soloist Samantha Stinson. Emmy-winning author and journalist David Pogue of CBS Sunday Morning and the New York Times will appear in his other roles as musician, conductor, composer, and music lover.
The result is a wonderful holiday celebration and we can’t wait to share it all with you!
The Cape Symphony is proud to once again support the Cape Cod Military Support Foundation’s Operation Santa Claus with our Holiday Toy Drive. Please bring a new, unwrapped, packaged toy or a gift card to the Cape Symphony’s Holiday on the Cape performances in December. Thank you!
