Xicana soprano Cynthia López Olaya, originally from Los Angeles and now based in Columbus, Ohio, has appeared with Opera Columbus, Boston Festival Orchestra & NEMPAC Opera Project, MassOpera, Hogfish Opera, Boston Conservatory Opera, Martina Arroyo Prelude to Performance, and The Ohio State University Lyric and Opera Theater. Recent highlights include West Side Story, Le Nozze di Figaro, La bohème, and Carmen. In 2025, she appeared in La Hija de Rappaccini and The Old Man and the Sea with Opera Columbus and represented Columbus in the México Canta vocal competition. Cynthia is a member of the Racial Justice Opera Network and the Latine Opera Alliance, and she is delighted to make her Cape Symphony debut this season.
Wesley Carman is thrilled to be joining so many talented artists at Cape Symphony, and breathing life into the timeless music of Leonard Bernstein. Tony was actually the first musical role that he ever played back in high school, so he hopes he can do his fourteen year old self justice. Wesley has been seen as a member of the Broadway touring company of Monty Python’s Spamalot, and most recently a featured vocalist in the North American premiere of Septime Weber’s The Great Gatsby performed with the Cincinnati Ballet. Special thanks to Alyssa Wang for this opportunity, and more importantly your friendship.
