Russell Garrett is a Boston-based director and choreographer making his debut with the Cape Symphony. He has staged extensively in New England including Hairspray and The Full Monty at Theatre by The Sea in Rhode Island and in Boston with Camelot and Little Shop of Horrors at New Repertory Theatre, and Mary Poppins at Wheelock Family Theatre.
Russell works around the country as well with several directing credits in California, including The Drowsy Chaperone, A Chorus Line, Kiss, Me Kate, and in Hilton Head, South Carolina with Chicago, Cabaret, The Who’s Tommy, Beauty and the Beast, and Smokey Joe’s Cafe.
Russell is also an actor, having performed extensively on Broadway and national tours with The Scarlet Pimpernel, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, My Fair Lady, and Show Boat, as well as many regional and stock appearances. He is currently on faculty at Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music.
Russell Garrett is the director for The Tonys: Broadway's Best on February 22 and 23.
