Cantorial soloist Samantha Stinson enjoys a spiritually fulfilling career as the Director of Education, Ritual & Music at Congregation Beth El in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Prior to her current position, Samantha maintained a diverse career as an operatic soprano, musical theater actor, and academic. She has performed with Cincinnati Opera Education, Chicago Verismo Opera, Chicago Gilbert & Sullivan, Middlebury German for Singers, and the Bay View Music Festival, among others. Her favorite roles performed include Adele in Die Fledermaus, Yum-Yum in The Mikado, Musetta in La bohème, Lily in The Secret Garden, Miss Andrew in Mary Poppins, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro.
Her soloist work features Handel’s Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Bach's Weinachts Oratorium, and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasie and Symphony No. 9. She has performed as a soloist with the Orchestra of Northern New York, the Knox Music Series (Cincinnati), the Vocal Arts Ensemble (Cincinnati), the Chicago College of Performing Arts Orchestra, and the Beacon Street Chamber Players (Chicago).
Samantha holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music degree from the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Voice Performance from the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music.
