For the minimal cost of only $5, you could win $5,000 and the chance to perform with a professional orchestra in one of the world’s most sought-after destinations. Violinists of all nationalities ages 18 and up may take part in this competition. The competition will take place in two rounds, from which the judges will select a winner. Both rounds will be completed via recorded video.
The winner will perform a Mozart concerto with the Cape Symphony, Cape Cod, Massachusetts on May 2 and 3, 2020.

Please upload a video recording to YouTube (or other video sharing site) of yourself performing the first movement of a Mozart concerto of your choice. The video can be you alone, accompanied by a piano, in recital, or in concert with an ensemble or orchestra. The unedited audio and video should have been made within the last two years and does not need to be professional quality. Video taken on a phone is acceptable; video should be taken from no more than 10 feet away.
Chosen finalists will be notified by 5:00 PM EST on Friday, January 31, 2020. Finalists will be asked to submit a video of an entire Mozart concerto performance. This may be the same concerto that you chose for your first round video. The deadline to submit the video link will be Saturday, 29 February, 2020 at 5:00 PM EST.
A winner will be chosen and notified by March 7, 2020. The winner must confirm that they are the performer from the video via a final live video interview which would include performing. This will be done via Skype or another similar platform.
The winner will appear as the guest artist at the Cape Symphony concert “Visions: Mozart and Mahler” on Saturday, May 2, 2020 and Sunday, May 3, 2020 and will perform a Mozart violin concerto with the orchestra. The first rehearsal with the orchestra will be on Friday afternoon May 1, and then dress rehearsal will be on Friday evening.
The winner will receive a prize of $5,000 US. Travel expenses will not be covered. Accommodations for the winner will be provided for the rehearsal and concert dates.
