70 Years of "South Pacific"
2019 marks the 70th anniversary of South Pacific, winner of ten Tony awards in 1949. It’s still the only musical production to win Tony Awards in all four acting categories. The original cast album was the bestselling record of the 1940s (which is pretty amazing when you think that it came out at the end of the decade!).

When listening to Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture,” during this weekend’s Legendary Love Stories concert, it will help to understand the plot, because the music refers to the various scenes of the story.

Our guest artist for Legendary Love Stories, Natasha Paremski, began her piano studies at the age of four! Born in Moscow, she moved to the United States when she was eight, becoming a U.S. citizen shortly thereafter, and is now based in New York.
