HYANNIS, MA—August 14, 2017

The Cape Symphony & Conservatory has named its new board of trustees for the 2017/18 season with Falmouth resident Douglas MacDonald continuing to serve as Board Chair.

Ellen A. Dickinson of South Orleans was elected Vice Chair. Marilyn M. Bruneau, also of Orleans, and Kimberly K. Williams of Centerville will continue to serve as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively.

New members to the Cape Symphony & Conservatory Board are:

Patricia Cahill, West Barnstable
Cahill, a graduate of Emmanuel College and The George Washington University Law School, retired to Cape Cod in 2000 after spending the majority of her career in Healthcare Management & Administration in locales from New York City to Colorado. In 1996, she was the first CEO of a newly established health care system, Catholic Health Initiatives. Since retirement, Cahill has been very active in the local community serving on several boards, including the HopeHealth Board of Directors.

Jacqueline deRuyter, Brewster
A studio artist, deRuyter’s work can be found in galleries on Cape Cod as well as in exhibits across the country. She shifted her career focus in 2011 from teaching college-level biology and genetics to the arts, with a special interest in arts education. The University of Massachusetts Amherst graduate with a Ph.D. in Cellular Biology and a Masters of Business Administration says, “We can always do more to enrich our lives through the arts.”

Theresa Egan, Cotuit
Since retiring as European Business Director in 2003 after 25 years with The Gillette Company (1978-2003), Egan has served on several local boards including Calmer Choice, the Osterville Garden Club, Cotuit Library Association and the Santuit & Cotuit Historical Society. Her perspective that good business practices are critical to success in non-profit as well as for-profit organizations governs her participation in guiding their planning. Egan has a particular interest in early childhood music programs.

Henry R. Holden, North Chatham
Following graduation from college, Holden flew reconnaissance missions in Brazil, Ethiopia, and Southeast Asia. After the military, he held a number of management positions in the financial industry. For the last ten years of his professional life, he was Managing Director for Commonfund Securities, Inc. Holden is Chair of The Cape Cod Foundation and The Chatham Fund, and is past president of the Creative Arts Center in Chatham.
