On Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM, Cape Symphony will host “A September Serenade" at Highfield Hall and Gardens in Falmouth, MA.

The evening will feature an open bar, heavy appetizers, raffles, and a silent auction to support greater access to Cape Symphony’s programs, especially at our Falmouth campus. Music will fill the air, with traditional performances by Cape Symphony Orchestra musicians and classical-crossover performances by Cape Symphony Presents artists.

Tickets ($125) will go on sale July 15.

Canadian conductor Jean-Claude Picard is widely regarded as an engaging conductor known for the natural and collaborative rapport he establishes with his fellow musicians. Jean-Claude has served as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières, and guest conductor of orchestras such as the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Opera, I Musici, and the Montreal Bach Festival Orchestra.

The Masterpiece Series concerts also feature the Musically Speaking pre-concert talks, insightful and entertaining looks into the music you are about to hear. These free 30-minute talks begin one hour prior to each Masterpiece Series concert.

Lauded for his energetic and riveting, yet sensitive conducting, Quinn is in his eighth season as Music Director of the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra in Kentucky. He is also in his seventh season as Music Director of the Venice Symphony in Florida and serves concurrently as the Pops Conductor of the Santa Rosa Symphony in California. Quinn’s engagements have included performances with many prestigious orchestras in the United States, including the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Rhode Island Philharmonic, where he also serves as the Pops Conductor.

Cape Symphony Young People's Concert

Cape Symphony Young People's Concert

10:00am and 11:45am

Each Fall, the Cape Symphony partners with area school districts to bring professional, live symphonic music to young people on Cape Cod. Approximately 2,800 elementary school students, along with their teachers and chaperones, take a field trip to the Barnstable Performing Arts Center for a school-day concert designed with the children’s interests and studies in mind.

Tickets are free to all participating school districts.

The Young People's Concert is made possible through generous support from The Thomas Anthony Pappas Charitable Foundation and The Enoch T. Cobb Trust.

Welcome to the red carpet! Join Cape Symphony’s own “co-hosts” Joe Marchio and Jae Cosmos Lee as they lead your Orchestra performing music from Academy Award-winning films and their unforgettable soundtracks. You’ll hear music from the Golden Age of Hollywood, along with favorites from Titanic, E.T., and Frozen. Broadway sensation and Wicked star Dee Roscioli is also welcomed back to the Cape Symphony stage in this star-studded performance.

You know Jae Cosmos Lee as the Cape Symphony’s Concertmaster and founding member of A Far Cry, the Grammy-nominated self-conducted orchestra based in Boston. Jae has performed in concert halls throughout Europe, the United States, Canada and Asia, and music festivals worldwide including Aspen, Chautauqua, Banff, and Salzburg. Jae has worked closely with the members of the Cleveland, Juilliard, and Tokyo String Quartets, and shared the stage with everyone from renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro to the most exciting chamber ensembles performing today.
