Lisa Fournier-Donley discovered her passion for conducting at the age of 15, when she was selected as Drum Major of the Barnstable High School Marching Band. This formative experience sparked a distinguished 37-year career dedicated to music education and inspiring young musicians.
Throughout her tenure on Cape Cod, Ms. Fournier-Donley served as both a choral and instrumental music educator, fostering meaningful collaborations with fellow educators and students at the local, district, and state levels. Her commitment to excellence in music education was recognized with six nominations for the Grammy Music Educator of the Year award, including advancement to quarterfinalist status.
A trailblazer in her field, Ms. Fournier-Donley has helped pave the way for female wind ensemble conductors in a traditionally male-dominated discipline, particularly at the high school level. In addition to her work in public education, she has contributed to the broader musical community as a guest clinician, Fine Arts Department Chair, Associate Conductor of the Falmouth Town Band, and freelance musician across Cape Cod and the Islands, as well as throughout the surrounding region.
