An Ohio native, Sarah Fachada received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Mount Union College and her Master of Music degree (specializing in opera and art song) from the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has performed as a vocal soloist, opera singer, musical theater performer and director, and choral singer and conductor with highly acclaimed ensembles in the Midwest, New England, and abroad.
Sarah has taught at the college level and in public, private, and community schools. For 25 years, she was the general music teacher, musical theater director, choral conductor, and private music instructor at Cape Cod Academy. Her students consistently participated and achieved high scores in local and regional music auditions and festivals, including the All-Cape and Islands Music Festival, the Southeastern District Music Festival, the Massachusetts All-State Music Festival, and the All-Eastern Honors Festival Chorus.
At CCA, Sarah composed, produced, and directed children’s musicals, and produced and directed full-length musical theater productions. More recently, she was Music Director for A Child’s Christmas in Wales, Bright Star, and The Prom at Eventide Theater Company and Cape Cod Community College. She is Music Director at Waquoit Congregational Church and on the faculty of Cape Cod Community College, where she directs chorus and teaches musicianship and piano classes.
In private lessons, Sarah creates a welcoming, safe, accepting, and nurturing environment in which each of her students can grow to learn and improve their technical skills, deepen their understanding of musical concepts, and expand their creative abilities and talents.
