Music Director, Cape Symphony Youth Chorus

Stephanie Riley has over 20 years’ experience as a choral music educator at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, where she is Choral Music Director and teaches Piano, Music Technology, History of Rock and Roll, Intro to Music Theory, and AP Music Theory, and serves as advisor to their Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter and the service organization Interact. She has also worked as a student teaching program supervisor and graduate final project advisor for the Longy School of Music.

Ms. Riley has led choirs at prestigious venues and events including the Massachusetts State House, the Handel and Haydn High School Outreach Program, District Attorney Michael O’Keefe’s inauguration, and Children’s Cove benefit events. She has coordinated collaborative performances of Cape Cod high school choruses and the Cape Symphony, and partnered with other schools to perform a variety of choral masterworks.

An active member of the music education community, Stephanie has served in leadership roles in the Massachusetts Music Educators Association, including as President-elect and Choral Editor of the Massachusetts Music Educators’ Journal. She has been Chairperson for the Southeast District and President of The Cape Cod Music Educators’ Association, pioneering the All Cape Vocal Jazz Festival. She writes for both the MMEJ and Pan Pipes, the quarterly journal of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity, and delivers presentations on technology in the music classroom and grant writing at local, state, and regional levels. Stephanie also serves on the BSO’s Educator Advisory Council, curating curriculum for their annual Young Persons Concert.

Outside school, Stephanie is Founder and Artistic Director of Soleil Women’s Choir of Cape Cod. She performs with the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Tanglewood Festival Chorus, the Chatham Chorale, and the Chatham Chorale Chamber Singers. She is Assistant Choir Director at the First Congregational Church of Chatham, MA.

Ms. Riley holds a BM in Music Education from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, an MMEd from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, and CAGS in Choral Conducting from Messiah University. Her greatest joy is raising her four children: Moira, Marnie, Myles, and Micah, and Mini Golden Doodle Curly with her husband Patrick.
