Masterpiece 3

Come with us to the heart and soul of Vienna, a stunningly beautiful city which over the centuries has given rise to boundless musical brilliance. Your Cape Symphony Orchestra will perform some of its finest. Our captivating program opens with Arnold Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony No. 2, a rich and expressive work that bridges the gap between tradition and modernism. We are then honored to welcome celebrated pianist Awadagin Pratt to the stage, bringing his exceptional insight and intensity to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, a masterpiece of elegance and lyrical beauty. After an intermission, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 closes the afternoon with its irresistible energy and triumphant spirit. Don’t miss this wonderful voyage through Vienna’s legendary soundscape, right here on Cape Cod. Music Director Alyssa Wang will conduct.

Ticketholders are invited to our "Musically Speaking" talk about the concert program. The talk begins one hour before the concert and will be led by scholar George Scharr, Cape Symphony Orchestra trombonist from 1989 - 2025.

Masterpiece 4

Experience the beauty of nature through music in this evocative program celebrating the sounds of the natural world. From the mystical call of The Swan of Tuonela to the delicate avian portraits in Respighi’s The Birds, each expressive piece beautifully conveys the wonders of the wild. Rautavaara’s Cantus Arcticus weaves recorded birdsong into an orchestral tapestry, immersing listeners in the haunting soundscape of the Arctic.

Following an intermission, Concertmaster Jae Cosmos Lee will bring vivid depictions of nature’s changing moods to shimmering life in Vivaldi’s beloved The Four Seasons.

Ticketholders are invited to our "Musically Speaking" talk about the concert program. The talk begins one hour before the concert and will be led by Assistant Conductor Joe Marchio.
