This concert is a powerful tribute to veterans, honoring their courage and sacrifice through exceptional music that embodies the patriotic spirit. Our stirring program opens with Dudley Buck’s 1879 Festival Overture on The Star-Spangled Banner followed by Morton Gould’s rousing An American Salute. Marine veteran Mark Paradis of Taps for Veterans will sound Reveille before Maurice Ravel’s elegant Le Tombeau de Couperin, and Taps before Barber’s deeply moving Adagio for Strings. After an intermission, Aaron Copland’s grand Symphony No. 3 brings the afternoon to a triumphant, hopeful resolution.
Experience a concert filled with reflection, remembrance, and reverence for those who have served.

Come with us to the heart and soul of Vienna, a stunningly beautiful city which over the centuries has given rise to boundless musical brilliance. Your Cape Symphony Orchestra will perform some of its finest. Our captivating program opens with Arnold Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony No. 2, a rich and expressive work that bridges the gap between tradition and modernism. We are then honored to welcome celebrated pianist Awadagin Pratt to the stage, bringing his exceptional insight and intensity to Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, a masterpiece of elegance and lyrical beauty. After an intermission, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 closes the afternoon with its irresistible energy and triumphant spirit. Don’t miss this wonderful voyage through Vienna’s legendary soundscape, right here on Cape Cod. Music Director Alyssa Wang will conduct.
Ticketholders are invited to our "Musically Speaking" talk about the concert program. The talk begins one hour before the concert and will be led by scholar George Scharr, Cape Symphony Orchestra trombonist from 1989 - 2025.
